Oliver and Eleanor have been busy having lots of fun. We ended a perfect Easter at the sunrise service yesterday.
Kate has had a wonderful time in Lanzarote. She spent lots of time in the pool, eating lots of ice-cream and winning certificates for her participation in the games at the hotel.

Years 3 and 4 would like to thank everyone who came to support our Easter Performance this week. They delivered the Easter story using through video and drama. The children have been amazing!
Year 3 completed their gold task in art today with Mrs Scott. They created an Egyptian pharaoh in the style of the artist Henry Matisse.

Year 3 have been investigating what plants need to grow well. In groups they set up their own investigation. Over the past two weeks we have been observing changes and recorded our observations. Today we completed our final observation and made a conclusion. We had to think if our predictions were correct as well as evaluate our tests. We developed our scientific vocabulary as a class!
On Thursday 28th March 2019 the chicks from reception visited year 3. We had the opportunity to hold and stroke the chicks. We used this experience to support our learning in English. We planned a non-chronological report about chicks!
On Friday 15th March Y3 celebrated Comic Relief with a carousel of activities. As a class we thought of two big questions ‘What inequalities do people face?’ and ‘What difference does Comic Relief make?’. We looked at images of both the UK and South Africa and identified where we thought they were located and addressed misconceptions of South Africa as well as the UK in terms of poverty. Next we thought about the missions of Comic Relief and ranked which we thought would have the biggest impact on people’s life and why.
