Matilda, Erin and Lily along with lots of St Oswald’s friends had a great time at the Science Buddies workshop at Hebburn hub today. They made slime and bath bombs and discovered lots about chemicals and bonding.
This week in Maths Y3 have been looking at Place Value. Green group have been using concrete objects to support partitioning of 2-digit numbers. Using dienes to partition different numbers in more than one way. They have impressed Miss McKeown with their independence and SORT!

We have enjoyed lots of walks, fresh air and fun.
Phoebe has had a lovely half term; had a fun day out at Adventure Valley feeding baby goats, petting baby chicks & having a horse ride as well playing on the slides & all of the soft play area.
Erin went to the Egyptian Exhibition at the Hancock Museum today, she made a papyrus bookmark, saw a mummified ancient Egyptian and held artifacts from the pharaohs tombs.
We had a great day.
Miss McKeown, Mr Richardson and Mr Usher were beaming on Tuesday night at Sunderland’s win!
Our week off with mam sweet treats, cinema and a pony day.
Kate had a fabulous time at the half-term pantomime at the Customs House and was lucky enough to meet the staff afterwards.

For Year 3’s Worship Challenge we had to listen to the Parable of the Talents and think how it relates to our lives today. Using the example of the master in the story, some children visited Mrs Wright in the office to learn about Life Savers and how we can invest our money. Mrs Wright explained what Life Savers is and how we can invest our money. We then shared this with the rest of the class. With Mrs Robins we thought about our own talents and what we can do with them.
This week in maths Y3 have been looking at statistics. On Wednesday 6th February we created our own question to ask each other in the class. We collected our data and recorded answers using a tally chart. With our data we created our own bar charts. On Thursday 7th February we then created our own one-step and multi-step questions about frequency charts, pictograms and tables.
