On Thursday 9th June Year 2 visited Little Haven in South Shields. We completed a senses activity to help us with our setting descriptions in English. Year 2 have had a fabulous and creative Jubilee Day! Year 2 collaborated with Year 1 today to learn and perform Rule Britannia. As part of their music learning they also listened to Jerusalem and commented on different musical features.
WOW! What an afternoon we have had in Year 2. We had a visit from Janine Marshall, Mr Richardson and Mrs Conway. As part of our food and nutrition week we made our own flapjacks. We planned what ingredients we wanted to use and demonstrated lots of fantastic baking skills. There was definitely a buzz in Ozzie Owls this afternoon. We cannot wait to taste and evaluate our flapjacks tomorrow.
Year 2 made a fantastic start to their Food and Nutrition Week. They started by tasting different flapjacks and dried fruit then deciding which flavours they liked the most. They started to design their own recipe for a flapjack. They are looking forward to making their flapjacks on Thursday.
Year 2 tested their boats to see if they would float or sink. We were very successful and we were able to use a compass to see which direction they travelled. We then used this to write our evaluation.
