“Harper and Shay have had a very busy week this week! Shay was awarded the headteachers award and Harper has been helping Shay with his work at home. They’ve enjoyed an afternoon of making winter tree scene pictures and were both enjoying Miss Marley’s story this afternoon. You are all doing a great job at St Oswald’s and thanks to the teachers for the online learning, the children are loving it!”
Yesterday, reception were learning about a Baptism / Christening. The children used the resources to act out their own Christening.
In Reception today, we have been on a hunt during Topic to find different textures we thought would be good for a dinosaur and explained what they all felt like 🦕
Yesterday, the Reception children have been looking at changes in materials. We placed a dinosaur into a balloon and then filled it with water. The water balloons were placed into the freezer. We can’t wait to find out what happens to the water balloons! Hopefully we will have a dinosaur ice egg .
Shay was really excited about making volcanoes and dinosaur fossils for his topic for school. This afternoon, Harper and Shay moulded, painted and erupted a volcano! Shay also made his very own fossil using clay and his toy for dinosaur footprints it’s been a fun afternoon!
Yesterday, our reception class mixed vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and coke together and poured it into their volcano. They had so much fun and learning as they created and watched the chemical reaction.
The Reception children have worked well today. They have created a volcano linked to the STEM project ‘Dinosaurs’.
Harper and Shay have made wooden puppets today as part of Harper’s toy topic! They look amazing!
Isabella has had a lovely Christmas at home with family. This included baking some gingerbread for Santa, wearing her new Ariel costume, eating a delicious Christmas lunch and some refreshing walks out and about.
