After working so hard over the last few weeks, Year 3 and 4 put on an AMAZING performance this week showcasing their Easter Show. We are so so proud of how hard they have all worked learning their parts and all of the songs, well done Year 3 and 4!
Year 3, in maths, were challenged to find a variety of halves within an A4 sheet of paper. They explored to see different ways that they could find and discussed how they knew that they were halves. This is in line with our fractions unit in Maths!
Year 3 and 4 enjoyed our time outside visiting the different stations during prayer space day. We spent time reflecting on different character traits at 7 different stations across the morning!
As part of worship this morning, Year 3 prepared their station for our prayer space day on Friday. We have been assigned the station of Gethsemane Help. We collected soil for our own mini Gardens of Gethsemane and discussed what Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane during Holy Week.
In PE, Year 3 read a map to locate the orienteering markers. We worked in groups to work out where each marker was and recorded it. Year 3 are really enjoying their orienteering unit in PE this half term.
In Science, Year 3 completed a scientific investigation to measure the strength of different magnets. We predicted which magnet would be the most strongest.
We then tested the different magnets and recorded the results.
Year Three produced a video thinking about grammar. We wrote down all we knew about Forces and Magnets and invited Mrs Wells, our science lead, to observe our presentations on all we know about Forces and Magnets.
Year 3 and 4, as part of their worship challenge, ran for resilience. We have been looking at how Jesus was resilient so we tried to exhibit resilience by pushing ourselves and being resilient whilst running laps of our school yard!
Today, Year 3 visited the library to change our books. We read for pleasure and listened to Catherine read us some lovely stories. We loved it so much we have already booked in our next library trip! Jarrow Focus Library is open all year round, Monday to Saturday. Please visit the library for your free library card to develop your love of reading or to start your reading journey regardless of your age or reading ability!

This afternoon, Year 3 had a visit from Father David. He kindly answered the questions that we wrote for him and answered our big question ‘Do the choices of Christians reflect what kind of world Jesus wanted?’ Father David responded, “Jesus says to love God and to love other people and my job is doing that. We worship God and help people to worship God. I help people, I am kind to people and help organisations to help the community.”
