Year 4 have loved Shakespeare day and were truly enthralled by the tale of Romeo and Juliet! We explored the play and acted out our own version and summary, to put our acting skills to the test!
We also explored the relationships within the story and the conflict between the Capulets and Montagues.
What a gorgeous day year 4 have had at WWT! We explored SO much of nature and linked so much of our learning across the day. We first of all, went on our own nature trail, before then completing some quests and tasks set by ‘Ava’ during the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed soaking up nature…and the glorious sunshine!

Some of our Year 3 and 4s had a jam packed day last Friday in the sunshine! We spent the morning investigating volcanoes and conducting our own science experiment to replicate a real life eruption! We used our clay skills to make clay faces, and decorated the nature garden with our ‘spirit of the trees’. We then finished our day making pizzas in the pizza oven before toasting marshmallows around the campfire
Year 4 have loved their science this afternoon linked to Grouping and Classifying! We looked at ways living and non living things could be sorted and different ways they can be categorised. We then LOVED playing a game of ‘Guess Who’ in which we had to ask questions in order to identify and group people, using classification techniques!
Year 4 had a brilliant time at Low Barns Nature Reserve! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the site and connected with so much of nature. We learned all about habitats linked to rivers and explored so much through bug hunts and pond dipping! What a super day
Year 4 have had a great day for World Book Day!
We have looked at animals in art and illustrations within books. We made some clay animals of our own to then tell and write our own stories about animals! We also paraded our outfits this morning and used our Oracy skills to talk about our characters
Year 4 loved their maths today! We completed an Nrich task, linked to fractions. We have been absolutely amazing at our fraction unit so far and impressed Miss Marley with our ability to match fraction amounts today, or equivalent amounts!

This week in swimming Year 4 practised back crawl!
