In English today Year 3 went on a story treasure hunt. We used graphic organisers to plan the story of an alternative fairy story “Egyptian Cinderella”. As a group we found different parts of the story and identified language which helped us identify the part of the story. On our plans we record key vocabulary. We will use this to plan, draft and write our alternative fairy story. 

On Monday morning Year 3 were thinking about what possessions they had and their importance. Miss McKeown asked everyone to rank their possession using a diamond ranking chart. As a class we mostly agreed that our family and pets were the most important and as things we could not live without. We identified toys and technology as important but that we could live without them. This linked to our learning of Jesus calling his first disciples and how Jesus asked Peter and his brother Andrew to leave  their nets and follow him. In RE we will continue to look at the Gospels and what kind of world Jesus wanted.

Erin had a fantastic Christmas and spent lots of  time with her friends and family. We also squeezed in a trip to Fenwick’s rooftop to meet Santa, a movie date with Matilda and Lily to see Mary Poppins Returns and a girls day with mam to see A Christmas Carol. Erin was also super chuffed to collect some medals at her swimming club presentation on Friday

We’ve had a lovely Christmas spent with family & also attended a Carols by Candlelight service, had a visit to see Santa & to top it off a weekend away in London watching Disney on Ice at The O2 Arena. See you soon!

We had the Best Christmas ever spending it in the highlands of Scotland with family.

This half term we have been working with Mrs Scott to create our own pieces of Pop Art, inspired by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenshein. We have experimented with different colours and used different tools to create the different effects. We all created Grinch themed artwork and completed our final pieces on a canvas. We are all very proud of our artwork.
