As part of our Computing STEM project, Year 5 have linked our work to our topic research. Using a range of skills, we initially researched Saxon villages and then used computer programmes to create our own thinking about land use and the demands of Saxon society. We finally evaluated the effectiveness of our own work as well as the suitability of the programmes we used.
Year 5 had a great Children in Need day on Friday, here’s what they got up to!
In Year 5 we researched the different regions of Japan and created a range of resources linked to these using our independent researching skills; some of us created factfiles, some compared it to our locality while others created persuasive advertisements to get people to visit our region. We also considered if our sources of information were reliable. We listened to traditional Japanese music too!
An update on our chicks. All 4 eggs hatched on Saturday 2 May and the chicks are really thriving. We feel so lucky to be able to watch this in our own back garden ️




A lovely blackbird has made a nest in Eleanor’s play house and today we found 2 eggs! We’ve left some food and water out for her and can’t wait to see the chicks
