To put it simply, it’s good to be back! Year 5 showing how happy we are to be back doing PE with Mr Barron. We certainly haven’t lost our competitiveness!

Today in Year 5 we have been looking at the different Viking Gods and making Top Trump cards. We have created different cards for each god – rating their power, skills, weapons and importance. Miss Topping was super impressed with our knowledge of the different gods and goddesses as she admittedly doesn’t know much about the Vikings – the students became the teachers!
Y5 + 6 completed their maths work this morning – it was excellent! Miss Topping, Mr Hawkins and Mr Richardson decided as a little treat that we would have a fun filled break including building a snowman, snowball fights and some snow football. We love to work hard and play hard at St Oswald’s!
In Year 5 & 6 we have started to question how we can keep ourselves safe online when using social media apps. We have discussed the potential dangers of using social media and how we can protect ourselves from these. We have also discussed the reliability of information presented online and whether it is trustworthy all of the time. In Year 6 we have also focused on building upon our Google Slides skills and learned how to insert a hyperlink.
He’s only gone and done it! After some struggling, Max has completed the rubiks cube!
This afternoon was a combination of PE with Joe Wicks and a series of Cube challenges! Were our children up to the test?
Every year traditionally Erin and Mam go to see a Christmas play at one of our local theatres. Unfortunately this year that isn’t possible but we were lucky enough to get tickets to see Theatre Space NE perform a lovely outdoor performance of Grimm’s Hansel and Gretel at Jarrow Hall 🎄

The festivities have begun for Phoebe and her family, the tree is up and advents have been opened!
