On Wednesday 11th March Year 3 had lots of fun doing an science investigation. We wanted to know if different surfaces effect the speed and distance a toy car will travel. We found that the car definitely travelled the furthest on the floor in the hall as it was much smoother than the carpet, yard and grass!
For World Book Day in Year 3, we had everything from the Demon Dentist and Mary Poppins to Billionaire Boy and Cat in the Hat. We had great fun guessing who everyone was and their book title of their books. Superb effort everyone, you all looked amazing!
On Wednesday 5th February year 3 had a fantastic afternoon in science investigating soil! We had to dig up and take samples of soil so that we could investigate it using magnifying glasses. Viewers of ITV Tyne Tees News may recognise some budding presenters and actors from St Oswald’s this week. The regional news programme heard of our plans to produce online safety videos with the children and thought they would make a great contribution to their Safer Internet Day piece being aired this week. Children from Year 3 and 5 produced engaging videos, relaying important safety messages and then presented them to their parents and carers at an Safer Internet Day roadshow on Friday 7th February.

Year 3 had a brilliant afternoon on Friday being archaeologists! Hidden amongst the shredded paper were Stone Age artefacts on loan from the Discovery Museum.
