We all had a super day celebrating World Book Day. We had so many parents come and join us in our learning and some of them even got dressed up! Why not ask us what we got up to?

Children in Key Stage Two sang their hearts out at the start of January in order to obtain a golden ticket. This gave the children first choice regarding their music through worship group for this half term. This is further improving our engagement in worship!!
Mr Usher and Mrs Thornton took our winner and runners up from the Blue Monday Joke Competition.
to a special awards ceremony at The Word
Children were awarded their certificates by the Mayor and got the
opportunity to read their jokes out to the audience.
A special mention was made to Lilly (Year Five)who won a voucher for her winning entry.
We hope you all enjoyed our Christingle Service as much as we did! The service (which was predominantly written and presented by our children), clearly taught us the symbolism of the Christingle and our Minecraft bible handouts helped to reinforce this message. Well Done to all involved especially Mr Richardson for putting it all together. The singing was super!
Tomorrow (Friday 21st October) is ‘Show Racism the Red Card Day’. Please can we ask that children come dressed in red and kindly donate £1. This money will go towards showing racism the red card.
Gracias and Merci to Mrs Woodward for organising our European Day of Languages yesterday (26th September).
All children had access to our European café and tried foods from Germany, Poland, Spain plus many more but had to order these in the language of each country.
The children also had a Spanish lesson with our Spanish teacher Mr Matias and Louisa provided a range of European tasters for lunch.
As you can see the children all really enjoyed their day.
Thanks so much to Emily McStravick and Edward Hart’s mam for sending us these fab pictures of some of our children at Blue Reef Aquarium with our school snowdog. It’s great to know what the children have been up to at the weekend!!
