The whole school picnic tomorrow will have to be cancelled due to the field being extremely wet. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Can we please ask children still bring their picnic? Also we are still going to have the ice-cream van so if children would like to bring up to £2 tomorrow they can purchase an ice-cream
Some parents have brought to our attention that they are struggling to find grey shorts in and around Hebburn! Mrs Smith has managed to find some tonight which can be bought. They are priced as follows:
Age 4/5/6 = £3.50
Age 7/8/9 = £4
They can be reserved from a first come, first served basis and can be reserved by e-mailing Mrs Smith. The money can just be brought into the office in the morning.
Happy Father’s Day to all of our brilliant dad’s we hope you have a lovely family day!!
Our Digital Leaders had a fantastic time testing and trying out new tech to use in school at Openzone at The Word today.
We started off by using iPads to experiment using the free virtual reality apps Google Spotlight, Quiver and Magic Tats where characters and pictures came to life.
Next we had the opportunity to try out the latest virtual reality headsets, whisking us away to Ancient Egypt, Mars, the rain forest, deep in the ocean and a deserted castle. The children worked in groups to discuss how they could use this technology in school and came up with some fantastic ideas.
We’re hoping to loan the headsets from the Openzone before we break up for the summer because our Digital Leaders think the rest of the children will love them too!
App Worshop tomorrow after school at 3:30pm in Year Two. This is a chance to have a quick tour through the app and ask any questions.
This half term in worship we are focussing on friendship. In worship today (5.6.17) we talked about what makes the perfect friendship!! We looked at Buzz Lightyear and Woody’s friendship from Toy Story and what made their friendship strong. We then made our own ‘Friendship Soup’ and wrote a whole school recipe for this. We then discussed how The Holy Trinity linked to the perfect friendship. Come to Friday’s worship at 9:10am to find out how our worship has progressed across the week.
We ask that children come to school dressed in jeans or shorts and a white T-shirt tomorrow for our Peace Day. We also ask for a £1 donation which will go towards helping the victims of this week’s Manchester terrorism attack!!
Thanks so much for your support!
Next Thursday afternoon (25th of May) we would like to invite all parents and carers to our COOL afternoon at 1:30pm!! Our focus will be on Peace. This will be followed by a sharing worship which you are all also invited to! It would be great if you can make it!!
We really enjoyed coding club last night! Our two challenges to use algorithms to make the perfect glass of orange juice and to organise a range of coding terms to meet their definition.
