Amber wanted to share the snowman she had fun making after all her school work today. She also made a chicken dinner in her mud kitchen with the snow and made snow angels.

Reception have had an amazing lunchtime today playing in the snow. We have made snow angels, snowmen, and also had a snowball fight. It’s fair to say, Mr Williams definitely lost that game ️ 🥶
Y5 + 6 completed their maths work this morning – it was excellent! Miss Topping, Mr Hawkins and Mr Richardson decided as a little treat that we would have a fun filled break including building a snowman, snowball fights and some snow football. We love to work hard and play hard at St Oswald’s!
Year 2 loved playing in the snow this morning!
In Year 5 & 6 we have started to question how we can keep ourselves safe online when using social media apps. We have discussed the potential dangers of using social media and how we can protect ourselves from these. We have also discussed the reliability of information presented online and whether it is trustworthy all of the time. In Year 6 we have also focused on building upon our Google Slides skills and learned how to insert a hyperlink.
This afternoon in Reception, we have been using the Notes app on the iPad. We created a list of people who can help us stay safe on the internet 💻
On Tuesday 9th February 2021 Year 2 linked their maths to Safer Internet Day. We collected data on different devices we have at home. As a class we created a tally chart and table. We then used Purple Mash to create our own pictograms and block diagrams.
Year 3 have been learning about hieroglyphics, the ancient Egyptian’s writing system. The ancient Egyptians wrote the names of their gods and royal people in an oval shape called a cartouche. The oval shape represents a rope with special powers to ward off evil spirits and keep the name inside it safe. Some of our children created their own cartouche, while others stained their paper to make it look just like dried papyrus!
Reception loved playing in the snow yesterday. They created snow angels and footprints!
