Years 3 and 4 would like to thank everyone who came to support our Easter Performance this week. They delivered the Easter story using through video and drama. The children have been amazing!
Year 4 have been studying the art work of Nick Gustafson and trying to emulate his style.

Year 4 have been looking at the artwork of Nick Gustafson whose rainforest inspired work is designed to make people feel happy. We were VERY happy with some of these initial sketches! Aren’t they amazing!
The Reception chicks are enjoying their weekend break at Chez Hayton this weekend! So is Phoenix!!
Year 4 have had an amazing day at World Pride Media today, to find out how media is created and broadcast.
We discovered what makes effective programme material and also learned just how tricky speaking into camera can be (especially if you get the giggles!).
We experimented with different tones and inflections to try and keep our voices engaging.
Our hosts, Peter and Mark were amazing—and gave us the best day ever!
Year Four have had a really busy World Book day. starting with role on the wall descriptions of Hagrid from Harry Potter, followed by a book break with a drink and a look at the books for sale. In the afternoon we wondered what stories might lie behind everyday objects and ended up with a look at soundscapes and the importance of sound to stories and film.
Cousins Alfie and Corey had a fab day out over the hols, they enjoyed swimming, games and the cinema, they ate so much food their bellies nearly burst!! 🤢
Year 4 have been working on a different way to create an explanation text. We are using Talk for Writing storylines to start embedding the text. Tomorrow will be actions day. Hope we can read our text!
Year 4 have been learning about adverbs of time using home-made adverb dice. We made our dice from scratch and then rolled them to help write a set of instructions to get from the school office to class.
Alex got to play with the band for South Shields Football team today before kick off.
