Year 4 have been using our cross-hatch shading skills to create tone and texture in our Bayeux Tapestry art project. We experimented with different pencil strokes to create different effects and give the impression of colour, using tone.
Some of our Year 4’s participated in a tennis tournament, playing in different matches against other schools and also their own classmates – the children were a credit to our school, showing brilliant sportsmanship and showing off their amazing skills. Our teams finished a very respectable 2nd and 5th!
Year 4 have having a fab time with, er, time. We have been looking at analogue and digital time forms, and exploring concepts around the 12 hour clock.
Year 4 have been getting hands-on with the digestion system! We used a range products to simulate the passage of food through the body. We used the legs from a pair of tights to act like the small intestine and squeezed our food through them to mimic how the body gets nutrients from our food. Messy work!
Naomi has had a jam packed half term with Wet n Wild, swimming, Kirkley Hall, Washington Wetlands, and a trip to Scotland to see her Nanny and Grandad.

We hope you all had a lovely Easter. We certainly did and Amy and Neil had a fabulous time. They visited Longleat, Devon and made so many new friends!

Daisy and Archie had an amazing time at Alton towers and then last night Daisy met one of her Hero’s Jade from Little Mix
Year have had a noisy afternoon – but in a good way – working out pulses, rhythms and melodies for local folklore songs. We learned the importance of keeping time and experiments with sharp and major notes.
Year 4 spent a pizza their afternoon creating their own, healthy pizzas. This was the culmination of their work into the importance of healthy foods to a well-balanced diet. Not only were they nutritious – they were delicious as well!
