Year 1 have had an amazing day programming, using Scratch Jr. First of all, children learnt to join blocks to build a program and add multiple sprites. Then they wrote their own algorithms for multiple sprites on a suitable background, before using these algorithms to write a program in Scratch Jr. Children loved seeing their plans brought to life! Amazing work Year 1!

Well what a fabulous games morning Year 1 had today! The children absolutely loved working together to read instructions and share their games with each other. Mrs Wells and Mrs Hope were so impressed with their attitudes and how they shared and played so maturely. Great job Year 1!

What an amazing experience for our little ones, rock pooling with John from Durham Wildlife Trust. Park fun in the morning, followed by a scavenger hunt, exploring rock pools and handling sea creatures. What a fantastic day! I’m sure we’ll have lots of tired boys, girls and teachers tonight ☀️

Year 2 had the best time during our fit for fun morning on Friday! We were very hot and sweaty from all of the fantastic activities that were set up for us! Thank you to all the staff at St. Oz for doing this!

This afternoon reception have learnt to dance like a sailor using The Sailor’s Hornpipe song. We listened to the music and thought about how it made us feel and how the music changes. We then watched a video of people performing a dance to the Sailor’s Hornpipe, we discussed how they moved. We then went outside into our garden and danced like a sailor following instructions. Well done reception, what great fun! ⛴️

Year 1 have had a fabulous day completing their chop, slice, mash unit in DT. To start off they thought about where food comes from and categorised these into plants and animals. They then identified food preparation techniques and put these into practice. Next, it was time to design their own healthy supermarket sandwich thinking about the ingredients they would like to include. In the afternoon they got to make their products applying all today’s learning. Finally, the children got to eat their sandwiches and evaluated these.

Year 4 have LOVED our Fit 4 Fun morning. We enjoyed all of the different stations, including cheerleading, football, rugby, tennis and even an obstacle course!
