Y3 – Faraway Friday Kenya – 14.6.19

Friday 14th June 2019. Year 3 travelled to Kenya for Faraway Friday. We started our learning using Menti.com. As a class we identified what we already knew about Kenya. We then used google Earth to locate different human and physical features in Kenya, locating them on our own maps. After that we created our own bar charts on purple mash to present the weather different months of the year in different parts of Kenya. For our COOL afternoon with parents we designed and made our own necklaces based on traditional Kenyan designs. Thank you to all of the parents and caters who shared our learning!

Y3 – PE – Quad Athletics – 11.6.19

On Tuesday 11th June 2019 Year 3 took part in the South Tyneside School’s Quad Athletics event. Miss McKeown, Mrs Robins and Mr Hawkins were so proud of the children as they participated in some challenging events including; 400 metres, 50 metres, the long jump and throwing event. The children’s behaviour and attitude was outstanding! Well done Year 3!

Y3 – Aspirations Day – 7.6.19

Year 3 had a busy day on Friday. Before visiting parents in the Hall, we came up with questions to ask them. We selected four different options based on our own interests and aspirations. We loved finding out about careers we were unsure of.
After that, we wrote letters to our future selves. We thought about what job we wanted to do, where we wanted to live and what kind of qualities we wanted. We had a paediatrician, teachers, vets and footballers just to name a few! We also had to think about any challenges we might face and how we might overcome them.

Y3 – Visit Belsay Hall – 4.6.19

On Tuesday 4th June Year 3 visited the English Heritage site Belsay. We had very busy day! To begin the day we explored the gardens and looked at the colourful plants and flowers. We were amazed with the trees and described it as enchanting! After that we went into the Hall. We compared the 17th century building to our homes and how different they were. The sun stayed out so we ate our lunch outdoors. To finish our visit we walked through the quarry garden and went to the castle. Year 3 impressed all of the staff with their behaviour and enthusiasm.

Y3 – Erin’s Half Term Fun – 2.6.19

At the start of the week Erin went to school with Mam for rehearsals with the senior drama group, she had a great laugh. We still managed however to pack in some fun at the end of the holiday with a trip to the park and the fair, we went to the pictures to see Aladdin and Erin went to inflatespace and clip n climb for her friends birthday and had a lovely afternoon tea with her cousin. Hope you had a great week too 😄

 

 

Y3 – Outdoor Learning Day – 23.5.19

On Thursday 23rd May, Year 3 took part in outdoor classroom. Along with the rest of the school, year 3 created artwork from natural resources, went on a nature trail, played games with the parachute, made sticky bracelets and crowns and finally roasted marshmallows on the fire! Everyone loved being outdoors to develop their science, art and physical skills. Here are just a few photos to show how busy our day was.
