Phoebe has been keeping busy doing PE with Joe, keeping on top of her school work, creating lovely pictures & recording Easter messages. She’s a godsend keeping her little sister entertained whilst mam & dad are working. Missing all of her friends & teachers & we hope everyone is staying safe.
In whole-school worship this morning, we all thought of practical ways that we can show others we are thankful for all they do for us. Here are some of the suggestions that were made. (And please let us know if you receive any flowers or a card this week from your child!).
On Thursday 19th September Year 2 were practising their letter formation and handwriting. Some of us were using chalks to form of letters and others were beginning to use horizontal and diagonal strokes to join some letters. We are working hard on our presentation and letter formation.
Year 4 have been putting our persuasive writing Gold Writes to good use in our Hustings for the School Council Elections. We set out to convince our peers to give us their votes using strong, persuasive phrases.
Phoebe took part in the South Tyneside summer parade for the first time, she walked it as part of The Urban Factory/NE Cheer and she had so much fun, never stopped cheering and is looking forward to taken part next year
What a productive afternoon Year 3 had on Tuesday 9th July. They had designed their own towels, so they then began the process of making them. They had to put a hem in the material and then cut shapes from felt to create a towel that was personal to them.They discovered that sewing is really tricky but everyone persevered. They are looking forward to finishing them next week.
The elderly courageous advocacy group feel passionate about over 75’s paying for their TV licenses which the BBC plan on bringing in. Could you please sign this petition please! We feel like this is unfair as a lot of people over 75 rely on their TV for company. We believe that they should not have to pay and it is unfair! We must stop this!

Wow! What an amazing day we have all had at St Oswald’s today. The children have spent all day learning about different occupations from a wide range of visitors. This morning the children interviewed different people about their jobs including an interpreter, operations manager, police officers, firefighters, a plumber and oncologist rep to name a few. The children were so welcoming to our visitors and very polite.
This afternoon the children, with their parents, had the opportunity to visit our careers fayre in the hall and learn about other occupations from local businesses. These included a dentist, the RAF, Barclays Bank, Durham University and Pride Radio.
A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing visitors for making our day so special!
