On Thursday 23rd May, year 2 went on a fantastic trip to the Baltic to take part in an art activity where we were able to draw the different bridges that we saw while looking out at Tyne. Year 2 also had a go at designing and making their own bridge – they did a brilliant job. We all then had our lunch and luckily saw the Millennium Bridge tilt to let a boat past underneath. Finally, we took a walk across the Millennium Bridge, under the Tyne Bridge and across the Swing Bridge. What a wonderful day to end our topic about significant local monuments!
Aya and Alia have had a fabulous time off as they have been preparing for the holy month of Ramdan which started on Monday! We read a few stories about the special month and so far they’ve helped put the decorations up and prepare our meals.. Aya even made her first batch of anise cookies! What makes this month extra special, is their desire to fast although they don’t have to as they are far too young to do so! Fasting is from sunrise till sunset, which means around 18 hours this year! Ramdan Mubarak everyone 🌛
Daniel and Lucy have made the most of the long weekend! We visited the fair that came to Hebburn, Lucy did a bag pack in Morrison’s to raise money for her Cheerdance class and we had a productive inset day visiting the Angel of the North for Daniels homework. We all hope that you had a good weekend too xx
What a wonderful afternoon spent at Jarrow park for our attendance trip, we had lots of fun and loved being outside in the fresh air!
In Year Two during Topic we have been looking at similarities and differences between The Angel of the North and Christ the Redeemer.
This afternoon we have used observational skills to sketch the Angel of the North, we have tried to incorporate different elements of art such as line,shape, space and value. We have then evaluated our art based on a picture reference of the Angel of the North. We really need to take our time to observe and add relevant detail to our sketches.
In maths in Year Two, one group have been learning about positional language to direct a friend moving them forward, backwards, up, down, left and right.

We hope you all had a lovely Easter. We certainly did and Amy and Neil had a fabulous time. They visited Longleat, Devon and made so many new friends!

Joseph has had a busy Easter holidays.
We did the walk for Autism on the 12th April and spent the end of the Easter weekend in York for Joseph’s birthday.
