This week in maths some children in Year Two have been learning how to recognise and draw lines of symmetry. Yesterday we found this trick so today we have been practising.
In Year Two we have been using 2 paint to develop skills of creating a picture. We have done this through pointillism and impressionism. We have had to think about the size of our brushes to create our pictures.
This morning we have continued with our sewing STEM project, this week we have chosen decorations for our flags and learnt a new skill of using the glue gun with Miss Robson. We are so proud of what we have achieved.
Look at what year 2 have accomplished this morning for our sewing STEM project! Miss Booth,Miss Robson and Mrs B are so proud of the perseverance, team work and concentration from all year 2 children today in developing their sewing skills, well done year 2!
This afternoon we have completed some comic relief activities, we thoroughly enjoyed choosing which activity to complete such as writing acrostic poems, designing Red Nose Day characters, solving crosswords and missing word problems.
In RE this morning we talked about the different emotions we felt during the Easter story. Then we did some role play and acted how we would show our emotions during the events of the Easter story.
This afternoon in science, Year Two have been on an exploration walk to find living, dead or never been alive things. We thought carefully about what living things do that tells us that they are living such as breathe, move, reproduce and produce waste.
We thoroughly enjoyed our prayer space time, reflecting on what we are thankful for, locating countries on a world map and saying a prayer for them. We loved putting ourselves in God’s shoes and thinking about what God is like as a person! What a lovely, peaceful morning!
Our hunt to find symbols of Easter and how we know it is approaching.
