Reception have had an amazing afternoon making our own Easter Gardens. We worked together to create our own garden using materials outdoors and then we talked about the symbols in our garden, linked to Easter. Mrs Smith and Mr Richardson came to see our learning and Mr Richardson was so impressed he even brought all of his year 6 class to see what we were doing – wow!
Reception are delighted because our chicks have hatched and they are so cute! They came into the classroom to the sound of cheeping and were so excited to even catch a glimpse of some of them hatching out of their eggs. We are deciding on names and love holding them and watching them run around!

Reception used their computing skills on Purple Mash cam for Red Nose Day.
Reception have thoroughly enjoyed planting their own bean plants today, we have planted them in clear cups to begin with so we can see as soon as they begin to develop roots and shoots! Next we will plant them and hopefully end up with some big, strong bean plants and edible beans!
Reception spent the afternoon adding more animals to our classroom and we are delighted to share that we are now the proud parents of 33 caterpillars and ALOT of frogspawn! As you can imagine, there is so much excitement in the class at the moment and we are feeling lucky that everyone has their own caterpillar, which they’ve named and are now going to look after until they turn into butterflies! 🦋
Reception are super excited because we have eggs in our classroom! Over the next 18 days we will be eagerly watching our eggs and waiting for them to hatch, we can’t wait to name them and have a hold when they are finally here!

Noah from reception class has had a lot of fun today with Mam, auntie, cousin Leon and grandparents. We visited Brockbushes farm in Hexham and Noah got to take an Alpaca called Mountbatten for a walk around the field. Turns out Mountbatten is an award winning Alpaca from Northumberland. We also bumped into a wooden Gruffalo one of Noah’s favourite book characters!!
Sophie has been practising her letters during our half term holidays. We are proud of your independent learning Sophie!
