Reception began their new PE unit today ‘ ‘Gymnastics.’


As part of their ready steady grow topic, reception exploring printing. They used a variety of fruit and vegetables to print and make their own prints. Children explored using different colour. We talked about the different fruits and vegetables and the textures.

For reception’s COOL afternoon we made cards with our parents and carers. We then performed ‘Magic Penny’ to share the message of LOVE ❤️

Reception have had a gorgeous world book day. We all came in dressed as some of our favourite characters. We talked about who we were, drew a picture and the at the end of the day voted for the best dressed.


The very talented Mrs O’Doherty pulled out all the stops today during Forest School. We started the session by watching a video titled ‘Are eggs alive?”

Reception have had a fab morning at the Laing Art gallery. We took part in ‘Let’s visit an art gallery’ workshop. We discussed different types of art, what an artist is and what resources we could use. We played I Spy, used lines and marks to represent feelings and then created our own art gallery.

Reception have had a jam-packed day! We baked our own Victoria Sponge cake as part of our Long Ago learning. We mixed the ingredients, baked the cakes, decorated them and finally tasted them! Well done Reception.

As part of their Long Ago KRP, reception looked at portraits. We each created our own using clay. We had to manipulate the clay to make the different features of our face!
