This week in maths reception have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. We have printed in the creative area to see which 3D shapes make 2D shapes and explored the relationship between them. We have also sorted everyday materials into the correct 3D shape, recognising, naming and identifying them. Great job 
Today, Reception have launched our Agents of Change focus.
KS1 Spanish Club had the best time with Mr Rundle during their first session. They learned all about animals and consolidated their knowledge by playing some games of bingo!

Reception have been continuing our RE learning of special stories. This afternoon we have learnt all about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita. Children have sequenced the story, created puppets, decorated diyas using oil pastels and painted the main characters by colour mixing. Great job today 
Today has been Shakespeare Day at St Oswald’s, reception learnt all about ‘Who was William Shakespeare and why was he a mover and shaker?’ Children wrote captions with key facts, constructed our own theatres in the style of The Globe, created portraits of the famous playwright and painted The Globe theatre by mixing colours. Great job superstars what a busy day
Reception have loved planning in all the new areas linked to Animals safari . We have explored zoo animals and then ordered food in the Rainforest cafe . The pet dogs have had a make over in the dog groomers.
At the end of term, Reception finished their KRP ‘Ready Steady Grow’ with some Super Salads. We chopped, sliced and peeled using our motor skills to create a salad. We had to think about the positioning to create a face. We then tasted our salads and evaluated them. Well done Reception
Reception have had a fabulous morning with our friends at Bede Burn for a physical development focus. Well done superstars
Reception have concluded their salvation unit in RE by focusing on the message of forgiveness in the Easter story. We created forgiving hands with Mrs Chalder and spoke about the importance of saying sorry and forgiving one another.
