Wowza what a day reception have had celebrating Aspirations Day, on Friday! We’ve had a lot of fun and learnt so much today! 
Today, Reception had a jam packed day, full of excitement!
We began learning about Steve Cram and his contributions to the sporting world. We now recognise him as a sporting movers and shakers. Then, we formed teams to compete against each other in severs relay races. We celebrated our achieved with a shoutout and punching the air!
We ended the day showcasing our previous learning (Animal Safari) in the form of an assembly for the whole school , parents and carers! Wow, we are tired!
Reception have been busy bees today learning all about sun safety linked to our topic of On the Beach. Well done superstars, you absolutely know how to stay safe in the sun 
Reception showed off their ball skills today during PE.
They dribbled the ball around the cones then kicked the ball into a goal. They ended the session with a game of football.
Reception had a wonderful day on the final day before the holidays, visiting West Park to complete their ‘Creep, Crawl & Wriggle’ topic! What a day of all things creepy crawlies and bug hunting, we had!
Reception children visited year 1 this morning ready to transition in September. Our focus for this term in maths is exploring 3D shapes. The children’s task was to spot patterns in the environment and then to create their own repeating patterns using natural materials.
The Reception children loved planning and exploring the new areas in the provision.
We dressed as pirates looking for treasure, worked in the ice cream parlour, had a day at the beach, looked at different shells and collected nets to fish for sea creatures.
What an exciting start to our topic ! ‘On the Beach.’
Reception have enjoyed a moment of peace! For our worship challenge this week we have been focusing on Peace Be With You. We took a moment to complete some mindfulness activities, we are now feeling calm and content 
This week reception have continued learning about 3D shapes. We have been searching for 3D shapes in our classroom environment and experimenting with shapes to see if they roll or stack. We have then created an obstacle course using objects and identified what 3D shapes they are.
This afternoon reception have celebrated National Numeracy Day with a focus on money. We have spent the afternoon exploring money through guided activities and our provision. Well done reception you have been amazing!
