To finish their learning in ‘It’s me 1,2,3’, Reception looked at the composition of numbers. We used Numicon to explore different ways we could make numbers. We challenged ourselves with looking at lots of different numbers as well as different ways to make the same number. Well done Reception!
For Forest School this week, Year 6 and a reception teamed up!
Working together with their new Year 6 buddies, reception listened to the story of Stick Man, and then ventured into the nature garden to make their very own Stick Man puppet! Reception then looked at how we could re tell the story using our creations, with encouragement from our super star Year 6’s!

For worship this week we have been thinking about and reflecting on Remembrance Day. For our challenge this week we have been creating poppy banners for our service on Friday. Reception have loved this challenge. Thank you Mr Richardson!
For early work this morning, Reception have been practising writing their names!

Reception have been practising writing CVC and tricky words independently in phonics this week! We are so proud of the progress the children are making with their phonics and independent writing!
Reception were lucky enough to have a visit from the school nurses this morning. We discussed the importance of hand washing and brushing our teeth. We listened to stories and sang some songs. We also looked at how quickly germs spread.
Reception have been practising their writing and letter formation in phonics. Children have been spelling and writing CVC words independently.
The rain and wind didn’t stop our Reception children from building dens on Thursday. As part of designing and building shelters project. We all enjoyed working with our friends to share ideas, select suitable materials and then build a den.
