Apologies for the error on the letter which has been sent out regarding the Pantomime tonight. It states the pantomime is on Tuesday 1st of December but should say Thursday 1st of December. Apologies for this.
Hi,
Stem Club will be cancelled on 1.12.16 due to the Pantomime.
Thanks
Helen Smith
Please can we ask that all Panto money and consent forms are handed into school before Wednesday? We have to let the Customs House know our numbers. Any children who have not returned their forms on Wednesday will spend their afternoon in school. Thanks.
Our STEM group are in desperate need of Kitchen Roll Tubes and also large, plastic, empty milk cartons. If you are about to throw either of these away please don’t as we plan to upcycle these in readiness for our Christmas Fayre.
Tomorrow’s Remembrance Service will now be at 10:30am rather than 10:45am as stated on the newsletter and everyone is more than welcome to join us.
Due to this Praise and Celebration Assembly will be at 2:35pm tomorrow afternoon rather than 9:30am. Thanks
Hi,
If there are any parents who would like to bring their little ones for a look around St Oswald’s in a view to joining our Reception class in 2017, we would love to welcome you to one of our two open day sessions on Thursday 17th November 2016.
The two sessions will either be at 10am or 2pm and will consist of a tour of the school, a chance to speak to Jade Pape (Early Years Lead) and also a question and answer session with Helen Smith (Headteacher).
If you would be interested in booking a slot please don’t hesitate to contact the school office on 0191 483 2844 or alternatively e-mail [email protected]
We hope to see you then.
Kind Regards
Helen Smith

Dear Parents/Carers,
On Tuesday 18th October at 5pm (as advertised on the newsletter) there will be a meeting for parents/carers to come and find out a little more about our new school Facebook page and how this will aid communication further.
There will be an opportunity for you all to ask any questions about the Page and offer suggestions as to the content of this.
I hope to see you then.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Helen Smith

Do you have any family members or friends that are looking to train to teach in 2017?
St Oswald’s CE VA Primary School is working with Prince Bishops Teaching School Alliance and we are part of a growing number of schools providing outstanding school-led teacher training. This is really important to us because it means we can choose the very best talent and develop them into teachers. Being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the best outcomes for our students.
We would be interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is. We are looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.
We are now meeting individuals who are looking to train to teach and embark on our school direct training programme which will start in September 2017.
We are hosting both primary and secondary train to teach school experience days across the North East, where we will provide potential students with support, guidance and answers to any questions they may have. Those interested in training to teach will also have the opportunity to find out about our successful volunteer programme. Many of our previous school direct students have confirmed that our volunteer programme provided them with the necessary experience needed to enhance their UCAS application.
Places are limited on our school experience days and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Should you require any further information regarding our programme then please do not hesitate contact our Teaching School Manager – Colleen Miller on [email protected] or if you would like to attend one of our school experience days, please visit our website and book your place: http://www.pbtsa.co.uk/what-we-do/train-to-teach/
Yours sincerely
