I am delighted to announce as Chair of Governors’ of Hebburn St Oswald’s CE VA Primary School, that in partnership with the Durham Diocesan Board of Education, we have formally submitted a bid to the Department for Education to open a new 2-form primary school in the Hebburn area – St Cuthbert’s C of E VA Primary School.
If the bus is successful, St Cuthbert’s will form part of the St Oswald’s and St Cuthbert’s Federation catering for children aged 3-11 years. The school will bring an additional 420 primary school places to the town and 26 Nursery places.
Please take a look at the website to find out more information!

The Foundation was set up in our community recently to emotionally and socially support people dealing with disabilities. We are based at Perth Green Community Centre in Jarrow. We currently offer Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Drama, Martial Arts and Coffee Mornings on a weekly basis and then monthly discos on the last Friday of the month. We have a Bowl-A-Thon in August which is a bowling competition/fun day and would love to see more families come along and get involved.
Here is a fab opportunity for a FREE science workshop taking place on Saturday 16th March as Hebburn Hub. Sign up now as places are limited!
We have all had such an amazing week at St Oswald’s. Each teacher has taught their specialist subject to each year group and the children have developed their skills in each subject. If you’d like to find out more, why not come along to our COOL afternoon on Friday 11th January at 1:45pm? We can’t wait to share with you our learning across the week!
It is curriculum week the first week back after Christmas.
