Whole School – Self Isolation – Mrs Wright’s news – 14.4.2020

Hi Everyone
I hope you are all safe and well.  I am missing you all terribly, I have been reading each of my letters from our lovely Year 6’s when they all became “Love Spreaders” linked to their Christianity in Action Worship, they have made me feel so loved.  I am glad to see that Mrs Smith, Miss Pape and our little Henry have been keeping my seat warm in the office whilst also taking care of our Key Workers children.  Meanwhile in The Wright House I have been keeping myself busy by checking the emails and completing tasks that I never get the time to do during the busy school day.  I have been paying the school invoices and working on the school budget for next year, needless to say Mr Richardson’s Treetop Tutorials have been very useful to Mrs Wright!!  I have also kept myself busy helping my youngest son Tye complete his school work and activities, playing board games, and cooking with my family, which is becoming a little bit of a competition between me and my eldest son Jay!  I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed our Easter Service, it was amazing and Tye and myself sang ours hearts out then we talked about the songs that we sing in our school that I love and the songs that Tye sings in his school with his friends.  We are very lucky to have our facebook page so that we can all see what each other are doing and we can share our ideas, thank you Mrs Smith for uploading lots of great things.

Whole School – Self Isolation – Mrs Smith’s Week – 4.4.2020

Hi All,

I hope you are all well.  I’ve been super busy over the past week.

When I’ve been at school, like Miss Pape, I’ve been warming Mrs Wright’s seat and Alexa has also been keeping me company with some fab Disney tunes 🎶.

When I’ve not been at work I’ve been making our back yard ready for Summer 🤞🏻!!  We’ve bought some new furniture and I’ve been doing some gardening!  I’m hoping the sun ☀️ is going to shine for us all very soon!

I’ve made Thurston flapjack which was absolutely delicious!

We’ve been for family walks and Henry 🐾 has been enjoying all of the extra cuddles he is getting with Poppy and Toby not being at school.

We have been delivering food for Hebburn Helps and worked with St Aloysius school last week to deliver hot food to some of our families!! The mince and dumplings were supposed to have been dreamy!

I can’t wait to get back to normal and see you all back at school!  I am missing you all so much.

Your posts are helping to fill my days and it is so great to see what you have all been up to!

Whole School – Art/PE – Some children enjoy their day in school – 2.4.2020

It’s been another busy day for the children attending school. After a lively start with another Joe Wicks workout, we joined over 500 other children in a live art lesson and sketched penguins, narwhals and elephants. In the afternoon we turned our skills to crafting and made wish jars and some Easter chicks. Thank you for a lovely day, Mrs Conway and Mrs Pennock.

Y1 – Self Isolation – Mrs Wood, Martha and Elmer – 30.3.2020

Miss McKeown sent me this lovely idea to try with Martha. We thought that we would share it with you all because it was very easy to do and kept us busy for a quite a while this morning.

We read the story of Elmer the Elephant and then made our very own Elmer using a recycled milk carton and collage materials from our craft box. If anybody tries this activity, please can you comment with your photographs below? Martha and I would love to see them!

Whole School – Self Isolation – Mrs Scott’s busy day – 27.3.2020

Mrs Scott has had a very busy day today! First of all she telephoned some of our parents to check they were okay. Then she decided to spend some time in her garden. She cut the grass and then spent some time with her three dogs, who wanted to see what was happening in the street. After that she tidied her husband’s car because it was disgusting! She also checked that her dad was okay, then she made the tea. To make sure she took care of her mental health she played Candy Crush and ate some chocolate.
She is missing you all and can’t wait to see you back at school.

Whole School – Music – St Oswald’s Music LoveFest Day – 14.2.2020

St Oswald’s had a LOVEly day on Friday 14th February 2020 performing in their LoveFest!  The children explored love songs and developed performances to showcase these. From sustained listening, identifying and practising elements of music, to facing the audience and performing, everyone came together to bring the house to a standing room only crowd.

Whole School – Having fun at Gardening Club – 6.2.2020

Mrs Smith and Mr Usher had a great time with everyone in gardening club today after school. We evaluated the areas in the wood which were sparse and also did some weeding.  Evie was brilliant a collecting the rubbish to protect any animals which may wish to visit the wood.

KS2 Art Club – Perspective Drawing – 17.1.2020

Mrs Smith was super impressed when she led Key Stage Art Club on Friday.  She introduced the children to perspective drawing and was blown away by the perseverance and resilience shown by the children towards quite a tricky task.  Well done everyone!
