Year 2 have had an amazing afternoon learning all about coastal erosion in Geography. Mrs Wells demonstrated the process to the children using sand, water and rocks. Seeing the process in action really engaged the children and the vocabulary that they learnt and used throughout the demonstration, blew Mrs Wells and Mrs Wood’s minds. They are loving this topic and can’t wait for their next lesson!
Reception have had a very different afternoon in their play today! We have explored ‘old games’ as part of our topic of Long Ago. We have played tiddlywinks, dominoes, marbles, hopscotch and skipping ropes! We thought about how some of our toys are different to these

‘Amber would like to introduce you all to the new number of our family. Meet Rolo the Guinea Pig. Amber and Ivy are in love with him.’
Wow what a trip year 1 have had to The Word! It was jam packed with so many computing skills, we used green screen filming to become little presenters and created an e-safety video! Keep your eyes peeled for this! We learnt how to take the perfect photograph ensuring it was in focus, used cropping skills and also learnt how to airdrop! Just look at our selfies they’re fantastic 😍. We then used ChatterKid to take photos and create voice labels to give children advice about being online. In the afternoon we used purple mash to practice our typing skills and we absolutely loved becoming actors after lunch were we had to run away from a roaring dinosaur using augmented reality! What a day! 💻🦖⭐
Yesterday Year 2 had a delightful afternoon working on our new Art topic, “Flower Head”. First of all we completed our cold assessment task, making a flower head sculpture from modelling clay. Then we sketched observational drawings of real flowers, thinking about their shape, colour and form. The children were so engaged and excited to work with real cut flowers and this was reflected in the quality of their work. Mrs B and Mrs Wood were absolutely blown away! Well done Year 2!!
Our Mrs O’Doherty has been back at it again today – learning the ways of the Forest Leader! As always, Mrs O’Doherty returned brimming with ideas that she can’t wait to test out on our gorgeous children!
