Year 2 – Music Composition – 21.03.2023

Year 2 are loving their composition in music and this week have been looking at rhythm. To help us get to grips with this tricky concept we played a rhythm game with our partners where we had to read word phrases and work out how to clap the rhythm. Some of them were simple such as football, where we just had to clap twice but Mrs Wells really challenged us with ‘jelly on a plate’,  ‘strawberry ice-cream’ and even ‘pepperoni pizza’. Every child wanted to try the hardest ones and Mrs Wells was super impressed with everyone’s attitudes and work ethic. Fab job Year 2!

Whole School News – Easter Drama Club! – 20.03.2023

Drama teacher Kelly and Peanuts Talent are proud to have two Drama Clubs running at Primrose Community Association during the Easter break. 
Thanks to funding from the Holiday Activity & Food Programme (HAF) we have ‘The Littl’uns Drama Club’ for KS2 children and ‘The Big’uns Drama Club’ for KS3 pupils.
This funding allows us to offer the clubs for FREE to children and families that meet the South Tyneside HAF criteria. Places are available for children and young people in South Tyneside who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals.

Year 4 – Science through STEM week! – 20.03.2023

For our Science through STEM week Year 4 have been looking at the effects of soil on the water cycle. We reminded ourselves of the different properties of solids, gases and liquids, and how different soil types shared some of these properties. We then designed and made our own water cycle so we could investigate how different soil altered the stages, evaluating our results and reflecting if we had carried out a fair test using our designs. Well done Year 4!

Year 3 – Our COOL Afternoon – 20.03.2023

Year 3 enjoyed a wonderful COOL afternoon on Friday. We had Mams, Dads, Grandparents and even a baby sister! The children’s aim was to show the visitors how to make a clay ammonite having made one earlier in the week. Year 3 were very impressed with how well their family members followed the plan and the results were fantastic. Thanks for coming to share our learning!

Year 5 – DT – 15.03.2023

Yesterday in Design & Technology, Year 5 created three amazing soups. They researched seasonal ingredients and chose three recipes that included them: chicken noodle soup, carrot and parsnip soup and chicken soup. They practised their measuring, peeling, grating, chopping and cooking skills and ended up with absolutely delicious results!

either a rain gauge, anemometer or a wind sock. In the next few days
