Year two are having a fantastic time during Science through STEM week. Yesterday was our BUILD stage where we used our plans to make our plant pots. We followed these brilliantly and solved problems along the way. It is safe to say that these look amazing and we can’t wait to test and evaluate next!
Year 3 kicked off their Science STEM week with an investigation studying a range of magnetic and non-magnetic materials. There were a few surprises, such as a rock, liquid and some putty! Next they grouped their results and then organised them into a physical Carroll Diagram before doing their own!
Wow another busy day for reception! We have been putting our chopping and slicing skills to the test and have made a healthy fruit skewer! We made this for the hungry caterpillar and tasted it for ourselves too 
we certainly enjoyed the taste test! We showed some super skills, building on our healthy eating learning and created brilliant skewers, well done 
For year 1s Science Through STEM we are focusing on the weather and our end goal will be to make instruments for a weather station. Yesterday we had a practical lesson getting hands on with different weather instruments, we had to predict what type of weather the instruments measured, what season they would be most in use and how the instruments worked. Today we have created a plan for which instruments we want to make. We are looking forward to making these tomorrow! 
Reception have had a busy day today learning lots about healthy eating! We have sorted lots of food into food groups and discussed if they’re healthy or unhealthy! We have then planned a fruit skewer that we’re going to make for the Hungry Caterpillar tomorrow 
!
On Thursday 9th March, Year 2 enjoyed a practical lesson on word classes. We sorted nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs into the correct category and discussed their meanings. Well done Y2 – such a tricky concept to get the hang of!
Year 2 had a brilliant time on WBD reading the text “Six Dots” about Louis Braille. Children had great fun learning to read and write braille and were fascinated by Louis Braille’s moving story. Huge thank you to our amazing parents for the amazing costumes too!
Our KS1 reading club watched and listened to Superworm, completed some colouring and playdough activities and then went on a Superworm hunt!
This week in forest club, we were kindly gifted two fruit trees to plant! We have planted a pear tree and apple tree, and also planted lots of sunflowers too! We are very much looking forward to watching these all grow!
We chatted about the legacy of the trees, wondering someday if our gorgeous forest clubbers own families might gather around them too! 🌳💚
Year 1 have been continuing with their art learning of Rain and
Sunrays, this week we have been exploring collagraphy which is combing different materials to create textures on a collage, we have then used paint to cover our collage and transferred them onto paper to create a print. Well done year 1 🎨🤩👏
