What a fantastic term year 4 have had attending their swimming lessons. As today was our last session, the children had a fab time enjoying some free play after all of their hard work!

Year 4 were on fire on Friday in the hockey tournament they attended! They really enjoyed competing against other schools and we even had one of our teams finish first in their group!
On Friday, year 4 looked at different pictures and discussed which music would create a mood to suit the scene. The class used glockenspiels to compose their own arrangements.
Our Y6 children thoroughly enjoyed testing a range of paper bridges, and using art straws to create their own!
Year 2 had a fabulous fun-packed DT afternoon as they began their new topic, “Beach Huts.” They began the afternoon by looking at the features and the purpose of beach huts before moving onto experimenting with joining, scoring and strengthening techniques.
Our KS2 debate team have had an amazing time visiting South Shields town hall today. They got the chance to meet the mayor and mayoress who gave them a fascinating tour and shared their wonderful stories. They also participated in a debate about uniform, length of a school week and bullying and then were able to vote in a polling booth. The whole team really impressed staff with their excellent debating skills, well done!
Reception had a lovely day out to the farm today! We went and saw lots of farm animals and explored around the farm. We also enjoyed a Gruffalo trail before then having our lunch! It was very muddy, lots of us have muddy shoes and pants 
On Friday year 1 concluded our STEM learning with a cool afternoon, our job was to test our weather instruments and to talk about their purpose with confidence. We were tasked with using our computing skills to record this. Some of us chose to create videos, make a pic collage or create a voice recording! We loved sharing our learning with our families! 🌧☀️🌬
On Friday Year 2 rounded off their Science STEM week by making videos to advertise the plant pots they made. There was a heavy focus on using our scientific vocabulary to advertise our products. Children really enjoyed the video making process and the results were super. Finally we enjoyed a lovely COOL afternoon sharing our scientific knowledge with our parents and carers.
