We’ve loved it!

Finishing the spring term with a bang! What a jam packed day we have had…starting with our Easter service, and then spending the rest of the day exploring different Easter traditions, from decorating our eggs to our egg rolling competition! Thank you to all the classes for arranging such fab Easter activities for us all to enjoy
Year 3 have concluded their Spanish learning for the Year. They have loved having Mr Matias teach them Spanish introductions, greetings, ages, colours, numbers and fruits. In their final session, the children used their knowledge to have a conversation in Spanish with Mr M.
What a show! Huge thank you to everyone who came to watch a Year 4 perform in their Easter Show, they were absolutely amazing! And a huge well done to Year 3 for their brilliant singing!
Year 4 have loved preparing for Easter making their Easter cards! We can’t wait to perform our Easter Show for all of our parents and carers tomorrow!
Today, Year 5 visited Sunderland University. We first took part in a ‘global ethnic majority’ session where we thought about discrimination and racism. We then went on a campus tour where we looked at what the university has to offer! Finally, we designed our own universities – thinking about where, what courses we wanted to offer and what they would be famous for!
Throughout this half term, Year 5 have been working on their composition skills in music. We have been learning all about staff notation, time signatures, ternary form, drones and grooves! Year 5’s end goal was to create a short ternary piece to accompany a motif, linked with our Spring topic, Sow, Grow, Farm. Our motif was Van Gough’s painting called ‘The Harvest.’
Last Friday 24.3.23 Year 2 learnt all about how and why Christians celebrate Easter. We watched a lovely video of a lady from Ely Cathedral, who took us through some key parts of Christian celebration.
‘Evie decided to give ice skating a go, as she is such a big fan of the ice hockey. This weekend she received her first badge for completing Level 1 at Polar Club.
Reception enjoyed a morning at forest school this morning! We have learned lots about the Easter story and have now made our own Easter Gardens. We had to use different symbols from the story such as a cross, palm leaves and the stone!

These were brilliant reception, well done
