Year 2 spent the morning looking at human and physical features of both the UK and Jordan. Some children evaluated the similarities and differences between the features.

Reception have been busy in the garden.

Team work, communication and skill were all put to the test! Year 2 loved working in small groups to complete Mr Barron’s orienteering course. We developed both our map reading skills and grid references. Both the staff and children loved this new challenge.
On Thursday 25th March, Y6 sowed Swiss chard seeds. We plan on growing plenty more plants and veg in the coming weeks and months!
For our outdoor learning Year One went on a hunt in groups looking for different materials. Then we correctly classified the materials that we had found.
For our math work today in year 1, we worked in mixed ability groups, choosing items in our classroom and measuring them with a non standard unit!
Today in maths Year 2 continued to look at measurement. Some children worked with Mrs Foster to practise measuring different capacities. We had to accurately read scales on measuring jugs and carefully pour the water. We then compared measurements using >, < and = .
Today Year 2 created their own dream catchers in the nature garden. They worked together as a team and joined their stickers using a clove hitch knot. We were so impressed with the team work, patience and determination when things were challenging. Year 2 evaluated their dream catchers; identifying what went well, what was challenging and what we would do differently next time.

Today during reflection worship, Year 4 trialled their new display created by Mr Barron and Miss Topping. The children used the Zones of Regulation and Feelings Blobs posters as a guide and placed their pictures onto them, showing how they were feeling. We’re hoping for this to become a regular activity in class! We also spoke about forgiveness with Mrs Hope and how we can forgive someone for treating us badly – we held our stones and dropped them into the water which was used as a metaphor for forgiving someone!
