Ozzie Owls had fun in the sun tonight, creating sunny artwork both in the Nature Garden and out on the yard. There were some wonderful creations as we’re sure you will agree!

Reception have had a fantastic time on our very first trip outside of school! We walked up the street to St Oswald’s church. We thought about all the things we could see and why this is a special place! Well done Reception 🤩
Today during worship, we continued our courageous advocacy learning and collaboratively wrote a thank you letter to Abigail at Cats Protection. We then wrote our own thank you messages! Year 1 would like to say another big thank you to Abigail for our learning on cats!
Yesterday, Year 4 went out into the nature garden to write some poems about nature. Whilst doing this we focussed on the benefits of being in nature and how this can impact our mental wellbeing. To begin with, we sat in the nature garden with our eyes closed and listened to the sounds – we discussed how we were feeling. Lots of children said they felt calm and peaceful and thought that being outside had a positive impact on their mental wellbeing!
Year 2 have been learning about the artist Paul Klee. We have been practising the skills that we need to enable us to create a final piece of artwork based on Paul Klee’s Castle in the Sun.
For RE this week, Year One have been learning about the Shema one of the most important Jewish prayers. For our task we created our own Torah scroll and wrote our own prayer using love, forgiveness or thanks.

Mr Usher set us a personal reflection linked with Mental Health Awareness week. We went into the Nature Garden and closed our eyes, we sat in total silence and listened to the sounds we rarely stop and listen to. We then drew pictures of what we could hear and some of us used key words or sentences. It was a very peaceful worship!

Henry wants to show you all just how much fun he has had this morning! As you can see, he has been doing a lot of digging and he’s super proud of himself!
