Today, Hiba shared her Islamic faith with Y2 and Y6 in RE. She provided a tremendously comprehensive slideshow for us, giving a number of facts about her religion and explaining just what it’s like to be a Muslim in modern day Britain. Thank you so much, Hiba! We got so much out of this.
For Year Ones STEM week we created a Bug Hotel with Mr Scrafton. We evaluated different bug hotels, designed our own and then all of us created a Bug Hotel for our schools nature garden. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr Scrafton for helping us because we had so much fun!
Year 3 enjoyed a reading comprehension lesson with a twist last week. Rather than write answers taken from a text into their books, Mrs Bradley had the children create their own quiz cards about the Ancient Maya civilisation. We hope the grown ups at home enjoyed being been tested! 😀
We love a STEM week in Year 3 and this one has been no different! After researching the ancient craft of weaving, the children then began to plan their own designs, inspired by the Ancient Maya. We are so pleased with their efforts so far.
Reception have had a great STEM day today! We have been building castles in the nature garden. This was so tricky but we have impressed Miss Marley and Miss Riley so much! Unfortunately the weather did not permit us to paint them this afternoon, so we made some flags for on top of our towers instead!
Today year 1 began our courageous advocacy learning around pet charities. We were so lucky to have a virtual visit from Abigail, from Cats Protection. We had an interactive lesson using our iPads to answer questions, take part in various quizzes and labelling cats to show how they feel when they are stroked. It was absolutely amazing and we have learnt so so much! We are now experts in looking after cats!
