Year 2 have had a fantastic day at Laygate Mosque where they were introduced to the religion of Islam. We learned about Allah being Islam’s only God, thought about the 5 Pillars and were even shown how to pray like a Muslim.

Maddie, Ryan, and little Meghan had an amazing time yesterday at a sheep farm where they got to feed the lambs.

Reception have had a fabulous morning with our friends at Bede Burn for a physical development focus. Well done superstars

Today, Year 1 enjoyed a jam packed Easter prayer space, in our beautiful nature garden. Children explored key themes and concepts from the Easter story, including friendship and how we could make the world a better place.

Year 2 and Year 5 teamed up this morning and took part in Easter Prayer Space Day. Following in the footsteps of Jesus, we all completed the activities and focused on our spirituality. We thought about forgiveness, worries and facing adversity.

In maths yesterday year 1 have been focusing on how to measure capacity. To support the children’s understanding we went into receptions outdoor area and carried out a practical. The children explored how many cups it would take to fill a jug, using appropriate mathematical vocabulary such as capacity, how many and amount.

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed our time outside visiting the different stations during prayer space day. We spent time reflecting on different character traits at 7 different stations across the morning!

As part of worship this morning, Year 3 prepared their station for our prayer space day on Friday. We have been assigned the station of Gethsemane Help. We collected soil for our own mini Gardens of Gethsemane and discussed what Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane during Holy Week.

Following on from looking at vertebrates last week, year 4 moved on to invertebrates, and looked at how we could group them. We worked in groups to figure out how each animal would be categorised.
