This week, KS1 Spanish club focused on learning their colours. They learned all about the different colours and then looked at some of Pablo Picasso’s artwork. Finally, they coloured in a Picasso inspired picture and labelled it with their new knowledge of Spanish colours!

On Thursday, Year 4 were very lucky to complete a workshop with The National Archives today linked to our history topic of Ancient Civilisations. The workshop focused on Howard Carter’s excavation of Tutankhamun’s tomb. We analysed documents from the archives from the period of the excavation, and also looked at some of the items recovered. We also learned more about our history mover and shaker Howard Carter and all the obstacles he faced finding and excavating the tomb.
What a fab night in Chicken and Duck club. We loved enjoying our s’mores around the fire, as well as finally being able to get back in the coop to look after the chickens and ducks!

Year 2 have combined History & PE today by using their sticky knowledge from last week’s orienteering lesson to support them in finding movers & shakers and creating a timeline in the chronological order. We began by using a map of the school grounds to find the points and locate individual movers & shakers. Once we had identified all of the points correctly, we then put our movers & shakers into a timeline!

Year 2 have been focussing on their position and directional knowledge within maths. We have been practically applying our new skills by making left, right, clockwise and anti-clockwise turns!

Yesterday, IPad club took a photo of an everyday object and used different tools to transform it into a character. We found this very funny!

Yesterday, in swimming, Y3 focussed on backstroke. Sharon gave us the key points of heads back, toes pointed, legs up and kick your legs. We had so much fun!
Wow! Year 4 performed their class assembly on Friday and what a performance! We are so proud at how well the children were able to showcase their learning all around their Misty Mountain Winding River topic. Thank you so much to all of our parents and carers who were able to come along and watch.
