We have had such a LOVELY DAY performing for all our amazing grandparents at our concerts this morning! We loved showing you our songs and have had a great time showing off our voices and moves! Thank you for coming ‘through the decades’ with us!

Yesterday girls from years 5 and 6 represented St Oswald’s in match day 3 at Clegwell. The girls played four matches;

Miss Randle and Mrs Chamberlain were very proud of the girls effort and team spirit. They battled hard and gave 100% effort.

In PE this week, Year 3 had a great time following a plan and a map key to create a replica with equipment to create some funny faces in orienteering.
Reception explored artwork by the famous artist.

We then used our cutting and positional skills to create a piece of artwork in his style. Can you guess his artwork style?
Year 4 have had a great day at Sunderland Museum linked to their geography and science learning. We spent the morning looking at the River Wear, learning all about its history and how the river has been used over the years. After that, we participated in a workshop all about water, thinking about the water cycle and all of the different elements.
Year One have had a fabulous afternoon learning all about the mover and shaker, Sir Christopher Wren. They were able to link this to their topic, Bright Lights, Big City and discovered that he was very influential in the rebuilding of the capital after the great fire. As well as learning lots of facts about his life, significance and the impact he has had, they also became architects themselves and had a go a drawing St Paul’s Cathedral just like he would have done back in 1666.
On Friday, Year 2 learned all about the significant mathematician Fibonacci during ‘international day of maths’. We learned all about his famous sequence, thought about how it applied to nature and then worked independently solving our own number sequences!
Year 3 spent our computing lessons looking into and creating branching databases based on the different attributes of dinosaurs! We looked at different yes or no questions and separated the dinosaurs into groups accordingly.
This afternoon, year 1 have been looking at how they can stay safe in the sun. Staff were very impressed with the children’s knowledge during a discussion. They then created their own posters promoting sun safety!
