On Wednesday 2nd December Year 6 went into the nature garden to apply our mathematical knowledge. We calculated the area and perimeter of the chicken coop and some of us even calculated the volume in cubic metres! It was really useful to practise our measurement skills and see mathematical concepts in real life situations.
The Y6 Chicken Club are growing in confidence every week at handling and caring for our resident hens. They take the responsibility of looking after the animals very seriously and, of course, enjoy the occasional cuddle!
Isaac and Phoebe have been having fun, we’ve been on bike rides, had a game of rounders in the park, made our own pizzas (our big brother made the dough from scratch!), baked lots of cakes, made a den that we slept in overnight and we got up at 3.45am at the weekend and our Mam drove us to the beach where we had hot chocolate and watched the sunrise, it was so so pretty and we definitely kept to the social distancing rules, we were the only crazy people out that early! We did have a nap when we got home though. It was amazing to see the sky changing colours even through the clouds. We skimmed some stones across the sea before we headed back home. We love being at home with our family but we are missing our friends too, thank goodness we can stay in touch on our tablets and computers. Love from Isaac and Phoebe xx

Charlie has done lots of different things whilst being off, he’s been a great help around the house, tidying, cleaning and baking.
We have also spent time outside getting some fresh air in the garden and out on a bike ride.
Charlie has also made Captain Tom a birthday card which we posted on Monday and he has also been on Reading Plus and Times Tables Rockstars hoping to beat year six in the battle.

Finn and Ollie are missing everyone but have been keeping themselves occupied, Finn has completed an experiment, without his mum asking him too, Finn wanted to find out which hotwheel was the fastest in the same track, Finn was surprised at the outcome as he thought the most ‘aerodynamic’ would be the fastest however the van was but thinking about it after the van is lighter that the more aerodynamic car….Ollie helped too to supervise the testing…hope everyone is safe and well….cars tested are in winning order from left to right in the picture below.
