Last week, Year 6 spent their Forest School afternoon exploring length and perimeter. We looked at making accurate estimates, and then converting our measurements between metres and centimetres. We finished off the session reading our class novel around the campfire!
Year 6 had fun creating stencils around our Frozen Kingdoms topic. We practised first then thought about what improvements could be made before we created our final piece.
Last week, we had Rachel from The Dogs Trust visit St Oswald’s. Year 4 had a class workshop with Year 6 yesterday afternoon where Rachel spoke to us about safe ways to approach dogs and teaching us how to understand the signals they give us to help keep us safe. Thanks so much Rachel!
Year 6 practiced their hurdling technique rosary, choosing a lead leg to go over the hurdles each time and modifying the hurdles to make sure our technique was correct!
Year 6 enjoyed their workshop yesterday, it was very informative indeed!

Y5 and 6 had a fab time at their Christmas party yesterday where they danced the afternoon away and enjoyed a bunch of games!
Year 6 had fun planning their own persuasive Christmas advert using a storyboard. We went on to writing a persuasive script before making the advert using iMovie.
Year 5 and 6 had a fab time at the pantomime yesterday. Thanks to Mrs Smith and Mrs Sharrock for organising such an amazing afternoon! 
Some of our children in Year 5 and Year 6 competed in a gymnastics competition this morning. In between their competition, they had a go at all of the fantastic equipment The Urban Factory has to offer – check them out!
