Year 4 have been wondering more about e-mails and the Internet. Who came up with it all? What exactly is it and how can we benefit from it? We have been researching some of the key pioneers in the field and sending our own non virtual emails to each other.
Isaac and Phoebe visited a light show at Alnwick garden on Friday and on Saturday they made and decorated lots and lots of gingerbread and grew a snowman and tree!!
Their elves have been very naughty lately, we hope this means Isaac and Phoebe have been extra good.

This week, Year 4 have been thinking about road safety for cyclists. We worked with South Tyneside Council’s Bikeability team to develop our bicycle skills and road awareness. We considered the best ways to stay safe and to have control of the bike.
Just before the rain came, Year 4 were continuing our athletics training. This week we were focussing on hand- eye co-ordination and upper body strength as we worked on our Shot Put technique.
The bright sparks in Year 4 have been investigating electricity with Miss Topping. We used bulbs, wires and battery cells to create working networks, then tried variations on the set up to determine what an effective circuit needs.
Year 4 have been continuing our look at Roman life by studying their use of mosaics. We have been experimenting with concentric patterns as borders for pieces of art and realising how much hard work goes into just one part of a mosaic!
Joseph received a medal and certificate for all his hard work during lockdown with Kip McGrath. He’s been working online over video link every week as the centre was closed.
Freya has been practising her basketball 🏀 skills with her lovely new rainbow 🌈 basketball! Well done Freya Mollie.
Oliver was nicely surprised yesterday when Station Manager Karen Soady turn up and presented him with a certificate and a uniform to came an honorary Fire Cadet.
He’s too young to join just yet but he’s displayed all the good qualities they look for in a Fire Cadet with his work in the community during the lockdown. So he’s allowed to attend some functions and events with them and help out.
