On Friday, Year 2 completed a lesson all about giving instructions. We thought about using clear sequences of instructions and took turns writing and then following them with our partners. At the end of the computing lesson we all turned into Beebots and followed the sequence provided by Miss Topping. Well done Year 2!

Year 2 have had the best morning with their friends from Bede Burn in forest school! We focused on our Science topic ‘uses of materials’ and completed a materials sort and a materials walk. We thought about the properties of the materials and whether they could fit into more than one category!
Yesterday, Year 2 continued their learning in gymnastics and focused on balancing. They practiced a range of balanced and thought about their posture, their form and their control. Some balances were super easy and some were very tricky!
Year 2 visited Jarrow Library to return and pick out some new books. We were super lucky and walked into a gorgeous display of books all about coastlines linked to our new topic! Thank you to Catherine for this!

On Thursday, Year 2 had Deborah in from Nexus to teach us all about safety on the metros. We used our sticky knowledge from last year to support our answers and are now metro experts! This is super handy considering we use the metro a lot to take us on rich experiences… thank you to Deborah from Nexus!

Year 2 began their new topic of gymnastics in PE on Wednesday. They had to use their sticky knowledge and think about their previous learning in Y1 and demonstrate their jumps, rolls and balances. We even spoke about gymnasts performing and competing at the Olympics!
Year 2 have had the best morning along South Shields coast. We have kick-started our ‘Coastlines’ topic with a memorable experience… a walk along the coast to determine what human and physical features we have on our doorstep!
Year 2 loved their Christmas dinner yesterday! A big thank you to our chef Nicola for cooking it for us!

Year 2 LOVED going to the pantomime yesterday! We had the best time watching the show ‘Mother Goose’ and already can’t wait to go back next year!
Year 1 and 2 have been busy this week performing our Nativity twice called ‘A Miracle in Town’! We have LOVED performing this to you all and were superstar singers!
