Reception are working hard this week to practise their weighing skills. We have been thinking about the vocabulary of lighter and heavier and comparing a range of items. We enjoyed making scales from our own bodies and some of us even weighed and then ordered a three items according to their weight!
Reception have had a really fun first week back during our STEM Music week. Our task was to create our own musical instruments and we made shakers. Our shakers will be going out into our nature garden to be used outside!
Hi everyone! Hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and new year. It’s been a long few weeks for Paddy he let himself go a little bit and grew a beard.
He’s decided he needs a pamper night in preparation for returning on Tuesday so he looks and feels his best.
Well what to say about the amazing performance from our littlest ones today – wow! Miss Pape, Miss Riley and Mr Williams are IMMENSELY PROUD of all of your wonderful children and the show they put on today. Thank you so much for all of your support with the children’s lines and we hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did! Here are a few from today and from our dress rehearsal. Reception have been tasked with doing something VERY important this week – we have been CHRISTMAS LOVE SPREADERS! Our worship challenge this week was to create a gift for some of the staff members in our school and spread some Christmas love. We loved every minute of this and created some beautiful baubles for our staff to hang on their trees. We were definitely feeling the love in St Oswalds CE VA Primary today!
Amber became a big sister to Ivy yesterday. She is very proud and has been a great help to look after her. We cant wait to spend Christmas as a family of four. 
Our KS1 and reception children had an AMAZING day at Tweddle Farm yesterday and loved every minute of our Christmas adventure. Over the day we wrote letters to Santa, visited him in his spectacular grotto and fed the animals indoors and outdoors! Our teachers loved hearing so many squeals of delight and had a number of children tell them, ‘this is the best day ever!’
Alfie’s mam is very proud of him as he has been practising how to write his name at home. Look how hard he has been trying with this letter formation.
Reception had an amazing time on Friday visiting both Fenwick’s window and having a treat lunch at McDonald’s. We were amazing and got the metro there and back, being careful to be very sensible on a very busy Northumberland Street. The staff in McDonald’s commented that we were fab and we could come back anytime.
