Reception loved posting their letters to Santa today, we walked all the way to the golden postbox in Jarrow. Did you know this postbox goes straight to the North Pole? We can’t wait to see if we receive a letter in response!
Charlotte had a great half term, but the best part was taking part in her first gymnastics competition. And she came in first place! Here she is showing off her gold medal!
Gabe and Lily have finished a busy half term by completing the 1.5k mini mo-run.
Reception had an amazing afternoon this afternoon, we finally cracked open our dinosaur eggs! We talked about how the liquid in our eggs had changed and by the end of the session we had some very cold hands. Next up will be our fossils!
Reception have had another fun filled afternoon on Tuesday 22nd October 2019! We have continued looking at changes in materials linked to our dinosaur topic and today we made our own Dino eggs! We filled water balloons and hid baby dinosaurs inside, popped these in the freezer and predicted the changes we might see. Baby dinosaurs coming soon to reception!
Reception had an amazing afternoon making fossils! We focused on the changing of materials as we made our fossils and considered how we have fossils now and talked about the extinction of dinosaurs. We can’t wait to be palaeontologists later this week and excavate them! Watch this space…

Reception loved their visit to Seven Stories and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in an Elmer parade and workshops around the book illustrations. What a fab first trip for our reception children!
Reception have had a fantastic coding day! We have been programming the beet bots to move around a map and finding the numbers we know. We have also loved using the iPads to access 2Go and navigate the robot around a maze.
Reception have been practising writing heir names today, we are working hard to hold the pencil correctly and some of us can even write our names completely independently. The rest of our children are trying very hard to use edit planning cards to support their name writing or tracing over their letters.
