Year 4 had a fab time at Jarrow Monastery this morning. We explored the ruins and used the maps to work out which parts of the monastery were there, like the refectory, dorms and kitchen! We even learned about some of the history of the church and how it was destroyed by Vikings! We also saw the oldest stain glass window in the world!
testing eggs covered in toothpaste. We put these in vinegar overnight and made observations about what happened to the shells with and without toothpaste (with fluoride). We were very keen to see the eggs as soon as we came into school this morning! We discovered the one without toothpaste on its shell had began to dissolve/decay 
Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the library today! We were so excited to pick our books, to bring back to school and enjoy

Year 4 have blown Miss Marley and Mr Hawkins away today with their performances! We are looking at play scripts for our new topic in English. We spent today exploring features of a play script and how these are to be performed! We are so impressed with Year 4’s acting skills 
In RSHE Year 4 have been thinking about our responsibilities as we get older. We understand that as we get older we become more independent and have to ensure we are making good choices about safety, health and risk taking! We also thought about what responsibilities we have been entrusted with at home too! Wow we have some super independent pupils 
Year 4 ranked The Ten Commandments in order of importance, we then thought of what we would add to the list if we could choose an 11th commandment. We used our presentational voices to announce these to the class. Many of us think there should be a rule to look after plants and animals, to not cut down trees, not litter and to not start any wars.
Year 4 completed their art gold tasks today! We thought about colour theory and what colours we are using together. These were complimentary and analogous colours

Year 4 have been demonstrating their gymnastics skills this week in PE! We have been putting what we have learned into some routines and making sure we are practicing precision, elegance and flair!
