Year 4 had a gorgeous morning with their buddies from Bede Burn! We enjoyed watching our Christmas movie and snacking on some treats!

! We began our art topic of Warp and Weft and explored different size looms, different materials to weave with and the history timeline of wefting! 




Year 4 had loads of fun in English today, making our mythical creatures come to life! We wrote some descriptions and designed our creatures yesterday, using expanded noun phrases. We then used AI technology today to make these real! We had so much fun editing and changing the images to be exactly how we imagined, some of them were so close to our own original drawings, this means our descriptions must have been brilliant! 
Year 4 been completing lots of their DT learning today around ‘Fresh Food, Good Food’. We have looked at lots of food packaging, what information is on there and how food is preserved. We then designed and created our own 3D food packaging prototypes and designed our own healthy snacks! 





we then got stuck into looking at Theseus and the Minotaur.
Wow what a fantastic day year 4 have had at Jarrow Hall! We learned so much linked to the Anglo Saxons. We first took part in some workshops learning how fabric was made from wool, how it was cleaned, brushed, spun and woven. We then recreated a battle and looked at replica weapons. During the afternoon we explored an an Anglo Saxon village, learned about the purposes of the animals and then had a story around the fire
! What a brilliant day of learning, the children were so inquisitive and had some amazing answers to questions! 
Year 4 have covered lots of RSHE today and had a day of learning around how to keep safe! We have thought about road, rail and water safety, as well as risks, hazards and dangers we might face!
We have learned how to manage these safely and learned lots of strategies to help us in risky situations.
Year 4 have loved some interactive timetable practice today for our guided maths session! We focussed on our 6, 7, 8 and 9 times tables, with Mr Hawkins throwing us a ball to catch and answer quickly! We managed to beat the timer in reciting the times tables!
