We have been talking about Remembrance Day and the significance of a poppy during worship. Our worship challenge this week was to decorate poppies to hang along our fence.
Year 2 finished their PE topic for this half term by enjoying some games of handball. Mrs Wood was blown away by the skills demonstrated and the fantastic progress the children have made 
Year 2 have been continuing their art topic of ‘Mix It!’ This afternoon, we created our own printing blocks using clay. We then used our printing blocks to indirectly colour mix.
Year 2 were presented with a fantastic opportunity to understand the possible dangers that can take place in sea from the RNLI. Year 2 looked at a variety of flags that may be visible at the seaside and what they mean, spotting dangers in the water and the procedures that must be followed to ensure safety. Thank you to the RNLI for an amazing workshop!
Year 2 spent Friday afternoon looking at identity and race as part of Show Racism the Red Card Day. We looked at how it is important to recognise and celebrate our differences. Well done year 2!
Year 2 have begun their new art topic ‘Mix It!.’ We have been completing a colour wheel by mixing Primary Colours to make Secondary Colours.
Year 2 have been enjoying practising their throwing and catching skills in PE. Today, we played ‘Across the Pond’ to apply the these skills into competitive games.
Year 2 had an absolutely fantastic trip to The Hancock Museum yesterday, linked to our Science topic- Habitats. We spent the morning taking part in a Habitats workshop, discussing animals who may live in different habitats. In the afternoon, we enjoyed some self led activities around the museum. Our behaviour and engagement was AMAZING!
This morning Year One completed their very first Gold Write. The children have planned and drafted their own autobiography, including special memories. Well done Year One, your teachers are super proud of you all!
Yesterday Year 1 participated in National Fitness Day. We ran 16 laps of our yard which is a big 1 mile! We then discussed what we can do to stay fit and healthy.
