Year 2 had an amazing Time to Talk day! We looked at a coastal setting and used exciting expanded noun phrases to describe what it would be like to be at the coast. The children worked in teams to perform their descriptions in front of their parents and carers. They performed using the appropriate skills needed to engage their audience.![]()

Year 2 have enjoyed lots of practical learning in maths, making arrays, to support their multiplication and division learning.

What a fantastic performance from Year 2 yesterday, in their class assembly about ‘Movers and Shakers.’
In Geography, Year 2 have been comparing two coastlines’ physical and human features. We have been looking at similarities and differences between Whitby and South Shields.
Year 2 have been continuing their learning on money. Today, we have been adding totals.
Year 2 followed up their Cheerleading PE unit from before Christmas by attending The Urban Factory to take part in some cheerleading activities, such as the tumble track, routine making and using the brilliant equipment!
Year 2 had a visit from Lucy this morning, who carried out a workshop based on the five ways of well-being. We enjoyed lots of practical activities that will support us in keeping our minds healthy.

Year 2 had an absolutely fantastic day at the Laing Art Gallery. This morning we enjoyed a workshop on print making. We created our own Collagraph – which was a printing block made out of collaged materials. We then used it to print with ink. This afternoon, we enjoyed exploring the gallery and looking at cool and warm colours used in different pieces of artwork. We were such a credit to our school with our impeccable behaviour!
