Y3 have loved their start to PE, this term!
In science, we looked at what is a balanced diet. We worked in groups to sort different foods into different food groups such as: protein, oils and spreads, carbohydrates, dairy and alternatives and fatty foods.
Last week, Year 3 had a fantastic time reading and listening to books at Jarrow Focus library. We can’t wait for our next visit.
Last week, Year 3 had a fantastic time at the Great North Museum. We learned lots of new facts and information linked to our History learning!
Y2 visited the Shipley Art Gallery in line with their Cut, Stitch and Join topic in DT. The children explored a range of materials, looking at how they were joined together and what their purposes might be. After, the children used felt to create their own designs which allowed them to join materials together using stitching techniques.

Thank you to Miss Marley, Year 2 had a fantastic indoor Sports Day!
The children had a fantastic morning at our school Fit4Fun event. They played a variety of sports and learnt new skills in the process. The events included football, team games, tennis and many more.
Y2/4 had a wonderful time learning about the importance of composting and the impact it can have on the environment. We created our own composts using water bottles, soil, grass, paper and our own fruit and veg peelings!
Year 2 have had a super Rich Experience at the Laing Art Gallery, linked to our art topic – Portraits and Poses.
We explored inside the gallery, using adjectives to locate a piece of art that we thought the adjective described. We then studied the portrait of Isabella and the Pot of Basil, looking at objects relating to the artwork. We finally created our own portraits of ourselves using different media.
Gallery staff commended us on our impeccable behaviour
